Background & Why We Work Here

The Christian community in Chiti Shaikiyan, Sialkot, is growing, with 200 families who are eager to worship, learn, and grow in faith. However, there was no dedicated church building for them to gather for Sunday services, Bible study, youth meetings, or community prayers.

For years, believers gathered in a small community center that was originally designed for general use. This hall was also used by other religious groups, including Jehovah’s Witnesses and Catholics, which made it challenging for the congregation to have a permanent, dedicated space for Christian worship.

Challenges Faced by the Community

🔴 Lack of a Dedicated Church Building – With no formal place of worship, the Christian community struggled to hold regular services and outreach programs.

🔴 Limited Space for Worship & Teaching – The existing small hall could not accommodate all 200 families comfortably.

🔴 No Ownership or Stability – Since the previous prayer space was a shared facility, believers had no control over its use and often faced difficulties organizing worship meetings and Christian education programs.

The Story of the Church’s Construction

Through God’s grace and the faithfulness of believers, the construction of a dedicated church building has finally begun!

A major turning point came when Mr. Ejaz Masih’s family made an incredible sacrifice—they donated land that they had originally purchased for their own home construction to build a house of worship instead.

Progress So Far

✅ Walls, Roof and front elevation successfully built.
✅ A dedicated space is now available for Sunday worship, Bible study, and Christian fellowship.
✅ The congregation has a place to meet, pray, and worship together.

However, the church is still incomplete, and much work remains to be done.

The Need

To complete the house of worship and provide a safe, comfortable space for believers, we need:

Completion of the church building

Interior & Structural Work

• Electrical wiring and lighting are required to make the space functional and safe for evening services.
• Windows and doors need to be installed to protect against harsh weather conditions.
• Heating systems and carpets are urgently needed, as people are currently sitting on a cold, unfinished floor.
• Final whitewashing and painting are required to complete the interior and exterior of the church.

What Shalom Elim Ministry Is Doing
