Background & Why We Work Here

Tando Adam is home to a growing number of Hindu-background believers who have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. However, these new Christian converts face immense persecution from local authorities, landlords, and members of their former religious communities.

For 25-30 years, around 25-30 families (approximately 300 people) have lived in makeshift huts on land they do not own. Now, as they have embraced Christianity, local landlords are pressuring them to evacuate their homes and relocate elsewhere.

Challenges Faced by These Families

🔴 Forced Eviction – Landlords are threatening to remove Christian families from the land they have lived on for decades.
🔴 Extreme Poverty – Many of these families are daily wage laborers, earning barely enough for food and survival.
🔴 Lack of Legal Rights – Without land ownership, they are left vulnerable to constant displacement and oppression.
🔴 Limited Freedom to Worship – Since they do not own the land, they cannot build a church or freely practice Christianity without fear.

The Need: Purchasing Land for Safe Resettlement

To provide a permanent, safe place for these persecuted Christian families, Shalom Elim Ministry aims to purchase land where they can:
✅ Build secure homes and live freely.
✅ Worship without fear of persecution.
✅ Establish a Christian community with schools, churches, and livelihood opportunities.

We need to buy 4,000 square meters (8 Kanals in local measurement) of land for their relocation.

Land Cost Options

💰 $10,000 – Land a little farther from the main road.
💰 $12,000 – Land near the main road for better access to resources and transportation.

🏡 This land will accommodate 25-30 families (around 300 people), providing them with:
✔️ Legal ownership of their homes.
✔️ A place where they can worship, pray, and practice Christianity without fear.
✔️ Opportunities for small businesses and self-sustainability.

What Shalom Elim Ministry Is Doing

✅ Evangelism & Discipleship

• Organizing door-to-door prayer meetings and strengthening the faith of new believers.
• Providing Bibles, Christian literature, and spiritual mentorship.

✅ Providing Basic Needs

• Distributing food, blankets, and essentials to these displaced families.
• Offering medical assistance for children and the elderly suffering due to poor living conditions.

✅ Resettlement & Land Acquisition

• Raising funds to purchase the required land.
• Assisting persecuted families in relocating and settling in a safe Christian community.
• Working with local officials and legal experts to ensure proper documentation and ownership rights.
